Apple Cider Vinegar For Natural Curly Hair | National Vinegar Day
It’s officially ‘National Vinegar Day’ in the US today so I thought it would only be right to shed some light on the amazing vinegar that is ‘Apple Cider Vinegar’ the natural key to a healthy scalp!
I first started using this after watching a video on scalp care and hearing vloggers like HeyFranHey and SunKissAlba mention it! Apple Cider Vinegar has so many uses and benefits for not only hair but health and even cleaning.
As I am all about hair I’ll be mentioning the key benefits this magic ingredient has for our curls.
ACV is actually an ingredient in many of your favourite natural hair products, my go-to shampoo ‘SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil’ is infused with Apple Cider Vinegar which is why my scalp always feels so clean and relieved after using!
Despite the disgusting smell, it’s actually a beautiful thing (lol). So here are the benefits ACV has for natural curly hair:
Apple cider vinegars many properties balance your hair and scalps PH levels.
ACV is anti-fungal so it helps to rid and prevent dandruff and bacteria in turn relieving your scalp from itchiness and irritation.
An ACV rinse (spraying the scalp and hair with ACV and then rinsing out with water) can help to moisturise your ends and add shine to the hair.
Top tip: Add a drop or 2 of an essential oil like peppermint, lavender or tea tree oil to your mixture to mask the smell (no one wants to walk around smelling like a sweaty foot).
You can use 1-2 times a week.
